At DefenseOnDemand - we take our training seriously. Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lineage sets us very close to the source of the Art through the teachings of Carlos Machado - the nephew of Carlos Gracie Sr. and Helio Gracie - the founders of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Soon, we will be presenting an educational option designed so online students can earn rank in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. By successfully completing an instructor-led online class curriculum that includes specialized video, students can meet the knowledge requirements for Blue Belt. And through our required evaluation of a candidate's actual physical skills, we believe integrity in the ranking system is maintained.

Upon completion of the instructor-led online course, all graduates earn a Certificate of Achievement in recognition that a student has received the body of knowledge necessary and required for the rank of Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

With that credential in hand - candidates can opt-in to participate in the physical skills evaluation process. Upon successfully demonstrating Blue Belt techniques proficiency, the student is awarded the Blue Belt and Certificate of Rank.
